08 Kickboxing & Strength Training Workshop

This workshop will get your heart pumping and your metabolism moving by combining fitness kickboxing and muscle conditioning techniques. Each 2-hour session includes full kickboxing and strength workouts, plus tips and techniques that will help you build your own fitness plans or make your current plans even better.

A. Kickboxing: This class consists of a full cardio work out as well as strength and agility training. You will learn how to safely and properly execute various punches, kicks and blocks that will help you achieve maximum muscular and cardiovascular benefits as well as increased coordination and balance.

B. Strength Training: If you want to burn more calories, protect your joints and get more out of your workouts, then strength training is for you. By adding muscle mass, you can increase your metabolism and help protect major joints from being compromised by every day, functional activities. Using your own body weight, this class provides exercises to strengthen all of the major muscle groups of the body.

09 Core and Stretch Workshop                                             

Friday              (July 16)                          9:15 - 10:45                $30  

With an emphasis on compound movements, holistic exercise and inward mental focus, this class will use Yoga and Pilates exercises to strengthen your core and build flexibility. No weights required. These exercises can be practiced anywhere anytime.

Instructor: Jen Hoffman

A former gymnast, Jen Hoffman re-entered the world of fitness after taking time off to start a family. A Group Fitness Instructor in the Andover area, she is certified through various nationally recognized fitness organizations in Fitness Kickboxing, Group Step and Group Power and is also a Certified Personal Trainer. Jen launched Empower Fitness in 2009 to bring her knowledge and love for movement to women of all fitness levels.
